Dear Village Water Users,
The Village of Hunter has been awarded a $585,000 grant from the New York State Green Innovation Grant Program (GIGP) to support the installation of a complete water metering system. Delaware Engineering, DPC, was contracted to design and bid the project, and bids were opened on December 18, 2024. The construction contract was awarded to The Hubbell Companies, Inc.
This project is funded through a combination of sources, including the GIGP grant, water infrastructure funds, and long-term financing.
The Village’s current water billing system will remain unchanged throughout the construction phase of this capital improvement project. Once construction is complete and the new metering system is fully operational, the Village Board will conduct a one-year study to determine appropriate rates based on usage, production costs, and infrastructure expenses.
